John Otis

Psychologist, PhD
Accepting clients Last Updated 25 days ago

I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist in Newton MA with over 25 years of experience helping people who are experiencing issues such as stress, anxiety, OCD, and depression to learn skills that will enable them to challenge negative thinking, approach avoided situations, manage stress, and achieve their goals.

I work with students in all years of college who could benefit from learning skills for managing social and academic pressures - including moving away for the first time, managing friend dynamics, and finding a job after college.

I am a Research Associate Professor of Psychology at Boston University where I direct the Behavioral Medicine Program at the Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders. Having worked in academics for all of my career, I am well aware of the various types of pressures that students can experience as they strive to succeed.
