Provider Types

This is a group practice with multiple providers, including:

  • Clinical Social Work/Therapists

Jessica Massaro, LCSWR, CST is the Owner & Clinical Director of Compassionate Connections Sex & Couples Counseling, LCSW, PLLC. We are a practice of 6 clinicians (Toby Hawkins, LCSW, Aimee Emmrich, LMHC, Cara Cole, LCSW, Qiana Watson, LCSW, Courtney MaeRose, LCSW) with an array of specialities: Grief, Bereavement, LGBTQIA+ and Trans care, Black Woman Superhero Syndrome, Attachment wounds and developmental trauma, sex therapy and more. Many of our therapists have worked at Cornell University (and some still do!) so we have an advanced appreciation and understanding of college students and university culture. Please check us out for each clinician's unique set of skills and specialities.

Training: Jessica graduated from Boston University’s School of Social Work for her MSW and Graduate Certificate in Family Therapy & Couples Therapy.

She also attended Indiana University’s Kinsey Institute for their Human Sexuality Intensive.

Jessica is an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist (CST), member of AASECT (American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors & Therapists), SMSNA, & ISSM.

Jessica utilizes approaches inclusive of Solutions Focused Brief Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) which is strongly influenced by Attachment Theory, Imago Relationship Therapy, Gottman Method & behavioral intervention.

Jessica’s perspective: “I am a supportive and kink, fetish, queer & poly/ cnm affirming therapist and I love helping couples (and individuals) learn to effectively communicate, create intimacy and connection, reignite chemistry and provide sex education; because the sexual life you desire doesn't have to be out of reach! I am also completely supportive of monogamous relationships as I want each partnership to define the relationship type that works best for them. I am comfortable hearing about those spicy desires so that I can empower you to share them with your partner(s) in a safe and non-judgmental way. I specialize in couples counseling & sex therapy. There is nothing taboo or off limits to anything you share with me, as your psychological safety is my priority."
