Clinical Social Work/Therapist, LICSW
Accepting clients Last Updated 26 days ago

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker offering therapy and supervision via telehealth in Rhode Island and Connecticut, as well as in person sessions in East Greenwich, RI. With over a decade of experience, I have supported motivated individuals, couples, and families to enhance their mental health and overall well-being.

My clinical background includes working in various settings, where I have enjoyed helping patients navigate trauma, anxiety, relationship challenges, complex family dynamics including parenting, life transitions, independence, and career exploration. I take an eclectic, strengths-based approach, recognizing each person’s unique qualities and empowering them with personalized strategies to build resilience.

I became a therapist because I am passionate about helping people navigate their emotions, build strong relationships, and create an adulthood that matches their values. I have seen firsthand how powerful it is to have a supportive space where you can feel truly seen and heard and where healing and growth can happen at your own pace. Outside of therapy, I love spending time outdoors, playing softball, traveling to new places, and making memories with my loved ones.

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, but I am here to support you in achieving rewarding success. If you are ready to begin your mental health journey or would like to schedule a free 15-minute consultation, please reach out at JessicaHarrisonCounseling@gmail.com or 401-541-5886.

My Areas of Expertise

Emotional Support
Emotions can feel overwhelming, but you do not have to navigate them alone. I can help you gain a deeper understanding of your emotional triggers, develop effective coping skills, and incorporate self care practices to bring relief. I provide guidance on expressing emotions to loved ones, helping you build stronger and more supportive relationships. With extensive experience in treating trauma and anxiety, both of which can often deeply impact emotions, I support individuals in regaining control over their symptoms and improving their quality of life. Together, we can explore how past experiences influence your present. As an LGBTG+ ally, I understand the unique challenges this community faces and offer a safe and affirming space to process experiences, navigate identity related challenges, and strengthen self acceptance. I have had the privilege of supporting individuals and couples with diverse gender identities and sexual orientations, ensuring they feel heard, respected, and empowered.

Relationship Counseling
Relationships can be complicated, whether with family, friends, or romantic partners. Differences in communication styles and personalities can create tension but with the right tools, healthier connections are possible. I can help you improve communication, establish healthy boundaries, resolve conflict, and make collaborative decisions. By understanding and meeting each other’s emotional needs, including love languages, you can strengthen your connection. I provide couples counseling for all types of parenting dynamics including blended families, adoptive and foster parenting, and coparenting. I offer support in rebuilding trust or working through the emotions and dynamics of divorce. If you find yourself in recurring unhealthy relationships, I can help identify those patterns and develop insights into the qualities that contribute to a healthier relationship. With my support, you can create stronger and more meaningful relationships.

Gaining Independence and Career Guidance
Navigating independence and “adulting” can be challenging. With my background in career counseling, I can help you explore a career path that you are passionate about, provides a sense of purpose, and manage the stress that often comes with these decisions. I provide guidance and support you need while pursuing education, seeking employment, or exploring entrepreneurship. For students, I provide strategies to stay organized, keep up with class work, manage academic pressures, and balance social expectations. I help individuals develop essential life skills such as creating routines, budgeting, balancing responsibilities, and adjusting to the demands of independence. My goal is to support you in building a fulfilling and manageable path toward success.
