Jennifer Austin
I was initially licensed in June 2011 in the state of California and spent 8 years working at the Los Angeles LGBT Center working with adults, couples, and adolescents in the areas of trauma, complex stress, substance use, depression, and anxiety. I also worked in the field of college sexual assault and relationship violence at Stanford University and Washington University for over 5 years collectively.
In July 2021, I opened my own private practice, called Open Air Counseling, LLC. My office is located within The St. Louis Wellness Center, a wonderful collaboration of health care practitioners.
I use a mixture of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy techniques to create a safe, warm, and effective therapeutic environment.
I have a strong foundation in resiliency work. I work from a strengths-based perspective with the goal of increasing insight, lifelong satisfaction, healing, and growth. I believe we have the capacity to change, heal, and surpass our wildest expectations.
I live with my wife and young son in the St. Louis area.
