Hannah Carey
Welcome! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master of Social Work from Simmons College and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Connecticut. My work has primarily focused on supporting individuals and families who have experienced trauma, anxiety, depression, transitional life stages, and adjustments. With specific focus on young adults who are experiencing stresses and life adjustments. I have worked in various settings throughout my career including health centers, schools, community mental health clinics, and group practice. With experience in in-home therapy, outpatient therapy, and integrated behavioral health working with children, adolescents, and adults.
My approach to treatment focuses on empowering individuals to identify and utilize their strengths to build skills in overcoming challenges and reaching their goals. I believe in the importance of building a trusting, therapeutic relationship, and non-judgmental and empathetic atmosphere that creates space for growth and change. I work collaboratively with individuals to create a unique plan that is effective for their needs and goals. My approach draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and psychodynamic perspectives. Working together to build on strategies and utilize strengths and the therapy space to facilitate healing, growth, and change. Feel free to reach out for a brief consultation to see if we are a good fit!
