Gisele Garelik

I am a licensed clinical social worker with over a decade of experience working with adolescents and adults. I have extensive experience with survivors of trauma, and often use a trauma-informed lens. I focus on issues that impact the life cycle, including relationship stressors, parenting challenges, career choices, managing the effects of chronic illness, and dealing with aging parents. In addition, I am skilled at helping clients and families deal with end of life issues, grief and bereavement.
I specialize in the treatment of anxiety, depression and post traumatic stress disorder. I believe the connection between the therapist and the client is paramount, and I work hard to build a therapeutic alliance with my clients by always meeting them where they are emotionally, spiritually and cognitively.
I am direct and supportive at the same time, and believe strongly in people's ability to change their lives. It is a privilege to share space with a client when they are experiencing challenges, and I often tell my clients that I will hold the hope for them until they are able to do so themselves.
