Hello, I'm Francisco. Over the years, I've had the privilege of supporting individuals through psychotherapy, and I've come to understand that everyone has the potential to cope, change behaviors, and manage their emotions and thoughts effectively. Life can be challenging, and realizing that change is possible and that recovery is a process can be incredibly empowering. My role is to guide you through this recovery process with empathy and compassion, always recognizing that the power to change lies within you.
I hold a Master's in Education with a concentration in Counseling from George Mason University and am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). For over 20 years, I've worked with individuals who speak both English and Spanish, primarily focusing on adults who have experienced trauma, PTSD, depression, suicidal thoughts, anxiety, and related issues. My professional journey has taken me through roles in Fairfax County, Loudoun County, and various other organizations, where I've had the opportunity to support immigrants, individuals with serious mental illness, veterans, and those struggling with substance use disorders.
In my practice, I utilize a range of therapeutic approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive processing therapy, positive psychology, and supportive therapy. By empowering you to recognize the need for change, adjust your thinking, manage your emotions, and modify your behavior, we can apply these approaches effectively. Therapy is a journey, and I'm here to walk alongside you, offering help and support every step of the way.
If you're ready to take the first step on this journey, I invite you to reach out. Together, we can navigate the challenges and work towards a healthier, more fulfilling life.
