Therapy is a unique experience and I believe that we as humans are most balanced when we feel safe and understood, non-judgmentally. As a bilingual therapist (English and Spanish), I strive to ensure that clients are provided the space to effectively express themselves in a way that makes sense to them. I have years of experience working with college students like you who may be feeling overwhelmed with the load of academics, expectations, and also trying to maintain a social life and practice self-care. Sometimes, just having a neutral person to talk to is all you need.
My approach to therapy is prioritizing your needs and personalizing sessions to reflect that. Specifically, the therapeutic styles that I utilize are Person-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I believe that therapy is done at your pace.
Ultimately, therapy is about recognizing that your mental health matters (just as much as physical health) and valuing the process to get there.
