Emma believes we all have the capacity to grow and reach greater levels of understanding along happiness in life. She thinks that the best way to get there is through a meaningful connection that is created in a safe environment where we can express our authentic needs. But it also means that sometimes we uncover some difficult emotions and might have to confront certain behaviors which can be very challenging. Yes, being in therapy (just like life itself) isn’t always easy, but those emotional waves will come either way, there is no way of stopping them.

In this process we begin to become comfortable with them by learning ways to regulate them and find the best possible support for the moment. But how? Emma believes that one of the great promises of therapy is that even when we don’t know exactly what we need or know how to feel better, if we lean in with curiosity and compassion- and stay committed- we can learn to turn toward ourselves and each other with empathy, begin to build healthier relationships and ride those waves of emotions like a pro surfer.

Emma has been trained in various clinical techniques in Europe, including schema therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, and psychodynamic therapy. With an integrative approach, her therapy is tailored to the unique needs and goals of every individual she works with.

Clients come to her practice seeking relief from stress, clinical depression, and a variety of anxiety disorders, as well as deeper self-awareness or insight into their relationships. She has guided individuals through grief, trauma, and emotional dysregulation. Growing up outside the US, she also brings a cross-cultural perspective that deepens her understanding of the challenges people from diverse backgrounds might face.
