Lissa is a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, psychotherapist, somatic facilitator (mindfulness, yoga, qigong, embodied play, etc.) and meditation teacher. Lissa specializes in anxiety, depression, mood, shame, grief, neurodiversity, difficulties with life transitions, trauma, and navigating chronic pain and chronic conditions.
Lissa works collaboratively with each client to find a supportive approach, and may incorporate the following into sessions: medication management (utilizing the lowest medication dose possible), mindfulness meditation, dharma principles, expressive arts practices, compassion-focused interventions, and somatic-based interventions including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Somatic Experiencing and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy.
Developing a positive therapeutic relationship with clients is very important. It is Lissa’s goal to provide a non-judgmental, compassionate approach that allows clients to feel safe. Lissa provides inclusive, culturally responsive, and justice-oriented therapeutic approaches.
