Em Withers
College is a time of frequent change, new experiences, self-exploration, and uncertainty; it's often overwhelming to juggle academic demands with everything else. Whether your problems seem complex or straightforward, therapy can be the missing piece in finding a better way forward.
Hi! I'm Em! I previously worked within Seton Hill University's Counseling Center, providing individual therapy for a wide variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, relationship and interpersonal problems, grief, trauma, academic stress, adjustment to college, identity exploration, and more.
My approach is relaxed, conversational, and at times fun! I am non-judgmental, flexible, collaborative, and welcoming to all clients. I blend traditional talk therapy (where we explore your thoughts and feelings and build insight) and skill building (where we practice concrete skills to soothe to minimize distress.) I'm culturally-responsive, trauma-informed, and LGBTQIA2S+-affirming.
I'm located at Elements Counseling & Wellness Spa in the east end of Pittsburgh. Elements fuses traditional psychotherapy with holistic wellness services, including massage, salt cave therapy, yoga, reiki, and sound healing. I offer in-person and telehealth sessions, and I have weekend and evening availability.
