Hello! My name is John and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with the State of Florida. I have been working in the field of mental health since August of 2001. Everything we talk about is confidential and I do not share any information with another person without verbal and written consent from you. I am not here to lecture, judge or command. My role is to listen to you so that I understand you and your private issues, empathize with your situation, validate your feelings, and work with you for a solution specifically tailored for you and by you.

I understand first hand how overwhelming university life can be academically and socially. I also understand that many of our mental health problems are years in the making and that all our experiences from birth to now play a part in who we are today. I offer my talents and services as a trained therapist to help you uncover all aspects of your situation and I work with you as a catalyst for changes that will enhance your health and happiness.

No subject is off limits and you are welcome to express it anyway you are comfortable. I will never be offended by anything you share and I will always give you my honest opinion. You are not obligated to share everything with me and I am not entitled to any information you do not share, but I will always be there for you as an advocate for your mental health and wellness, providing a comfortable, private and safe environment of unconditional positive regard for you.

I also can offer animal assisted therapy through my therapeutic dog Otto who is very mild mannered and comfortable sitting with you while you share what needs to be said and heard. Please feel free to contact me anytime of any day and I will respond to you as soon as I am able. Thank you.
