Welcome. I’m so glad you’re here.

I’m Dr. Noor Alwani, the licensed clinical psychologist behind Gentle Illuminations. My heart’s work lies is helping women and couples find their way through life’s challenges, rediscover their strength, and live in a way that’s more connected to their inner truth and the people they care about.

I work with women who are navigating anxiety, depression, stress, identity, trauma, grief, and life transitions. I enjoy supporting those who are aspiring to work in the healthcare professions, including future therapists. I also create space for couples seeking to deepen their emotional connection, improve communication, and strengthen their relationship.

I draw from a range of gentle yet effective therapeutic methods, including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Together, we’ll tailor a path forward that aligns with your unique needs, with a focus on lasting change and gentle healing. I also use measurement-based care to ensure our work is impactful and meaningful.

With a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Virginia, I honed my skills for years under the expertise and guidance of seasoned mentors who are just as deeply committed as I am to understanding how to promote healing and create change. I seek to nurture a compassionate space where you feel supported and safe. My goal is always to help you move through your journey with care, trust, and empowerment.

Our work together will feel like a partnership. You’ll be gently guided through your concerns, and we’ll work toward real change—at a pace that feels right for you. My priority is always to help you connect to your wisdom, and to facilitate healing and personal transformation in your life and relationships.

If you’d like to explore how I can support you or your relationship, I invite you to schedule a free 15-minute consultation. I’d be honored to walk alongside you as you begin this journey of self-discovery.
