I specialize in individual psychotherapy and couples counseling. I work with individuals who are in crisis or need assistance facing everyday challenges. I see couples who are having interpersonal conflicts and communication difficulties. I am a compassionate listener with a good sense of humor and a warm, engaging style. I view each person as an individual and will tailor treatment to best meet your unique needs. I am trained in goal directed cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) as well as more in- depth existential psychodynamic analysis that focus on how both current and past experience influences patterns of behavior.
Many people seeking my services struggle with depression, anxiety, self defeating patterns, negative thoughts or irrational fears. As an executive coach, I work with students and professionals in a pragmatic action focused manner to resolve personal, family, academic and career issues. I use hypnosis to treat stress, trauma, anxiety, addictions and smoking cessation.
I help clients learn new ways of understanding themselves and their everyday situations in order to change how they think, behave and interact. The goal is to achieve greater freedom, meaningfulness and satisfaction. To quote Maslow: "If the only tool you have is a hammer, you tend to see every problem as a nail."
