Dr. LaShawn Gooden
Life can feel heavy when stress, anxiety, or emotional overwhelm make it hard to move forward. You may find yourself overthinking, feeling disconnected, or wanting change but unsure where to start. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling stuck yet motivated to gain clarity and feel more grounded. I am a licensed psychologist and military Veteran who supports adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, relationship concerns, life transitions, and identity exploration through thoughtful, practical therapy.
My approach integrates a multicultural perspective with cognitive behavioral strategies. I work collaboratively with clients to build insight, strengthen coping skills, and address patterns contributing to distress. Therapy is both reflective and practical, supporting symptom relief while fostering confidence, clarity, and personal agency.
Clients often describe therapy with me as supportive, structured, and intentional. You can expect to feel heard and challenged in a compassionate way. Over time, many clients report increased self-awareness, improved emotional regulation, and greater confidence in navigating relationships and life decisions.
