Dr. Dena Solomon
Going to college is the hugest leap you may ever take! It is the end of childhood and the beginning of adulthood, all starting with leaving everyone and everywhere you've known for 18 years and finding yourself in a new, strange place, away from your friends, your family, your pets, your school and your stuff that all gave you comfort. You have to learn how to DO college, make new friends, study for college exams, write excellent papers, focus on preparation for a lifelong career, negotiate sexual situations, plentiful drugs and booze. It is exciting and amazing and anxiety producing and overwhelming at times. Problems DO manage to follow you to college, like focus or learning issues, family dysfunction, reactions to STRESS! Therapy is helpful in being able to talk through all of these experiences and feelings, strategizing to get a better sense of control. We specialize in reducing anxiety, depression, panic disorders, social anxiety and shyness, study inhibition, relationship issues, eating disorders and STRESS!
All sexual orientations and ethnicities welcomed.
