Clinical Social Work/Therapist, LCSW

My Experience
Over the last 30 years, I have lived and worked in Chicago, Seattle and New Orleans. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree from Vanderbilt University (1990), a Juris Doctor from Northwestern University School of Law (1995), and a Masters in Social Work from Tulane University (2011).

I have been a Social Worker since 2011 and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2015.

As an attorney, I supported adolescents in juvenile court who were faced with multiple psychosocial struggles and connected them to community support systems both in Seattle and in New Orleans.

As a social worker, my training included working with adolescents at River Oaks Hospital’s Intensive Outpatient Program, Tulane University’s Center for Counseling, and Trinity Counseling and Training Center. For the last 8 years, I helped launch and grow Butterfly Effects in Louisiana, working with families with special needs children to provide them with needed applied behavior therapy. I am certified in Adolescent Anxiety Treatment.

My Approach
I believe in a collaborative approach where I can meet you where you are and work to build a trusting, compassionate relationship. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive environment where you can explore and examine how to live your best life.

To that end, my therapeutic approach is informed by strength-based, client-centered, positive psychology, and cognitive-behavioral therapy. What this means is that we’ll work together to identify tools that you can use to address your life’s stressors. Ultimately, this will help provide you with both practical short term solutions as well as long term personal growth.

The therapeutic process can be difficult but I believe it is the best route to a happier, more fulfilling life. Often the hardest part is beginning! Feel free to contact me and let’s get started.
