I'm a licensed clinical social worker with a Master of Social Work from Fordham Graduate School and a Post-Master Certificate in Trauma-Informed Clinical Practice from NYU Silver School of Social Work. Over the years, I've supported individuals and families navigating trauma, depression, anxiety, and mood disorders. My experience includes working in a nonprofit domestic violence shelter and on a telehealth platform, where I provided care to adults and families facing a range of challenges.
I became a therapist because I believe healing begins in safe, affirming spaces. I'm especially committed to helping people understand how trauma—particularly generational and cultural trauma—can impact emotional and physical well-being. I also acknowledge the role of identity and systems of power in shaping mental health, and I aim to create a space that reflects and respects those lived experiences.
In therapy, I take a collaborative approach grounded in whole-person care. I use several evidence-based modalities to meet each person's needs:
- Cognitive behavioral therapy helps people understand how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected and how to make changes that support emotional well-being.
- Dialectical behavior therapy builds skills in emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and mindfulness, which is especially useful when emotions feel intense or overwhelming.
- Psychodynamic therapy explores how past experiences and unconscious patterns may influence present-day thoughts, relationships, and behavior.
- Acceptance & commitment therapy focuses on helping individuals accept what's out of their control while committing to actions that align with their values.
- Psychoeducation involves learning about mental health, symptoms, and coping tools so individuals feel more informed and empowered in their care.
My style of therapy is supportive, compassionate, and centered around your goals. I work with adults, older adults, parents, and families—and I'm especially passionate about supporting individuals from diverse cultural and social backgrounds.
Outside of work, I unwind by watching TV, hanging out with my dog, and laughing with friends and family. I know starting therapy can feel uncertain, but it's an act of strength. My role is to provide care grounded in expertise, empathy, and respect—so you feel supported in the ways that matter most to you.
