Hello! I'm Debbie. Service is who I am. First as a Christian, Licensed Clinical Social Worker/Therapist and US Army Veteran. I have a Bachelors and Masters degree in Social Work (Psychology minor). I subsequently obtained a Bachelors of Arts in Christian Ministry Education. My educational background, 20 years of therapeutic expertise and military/combat experience has afforded me the opportunity to humbly serve others in various capacities.
Understanding that the clinician-client partnership is key to improved mental wellness, I offer a free consultation to ensure we are a good fit. I invite you to reach out to me if you are READY to take a step towards healing. It is a choice and although it requires a decision to be vulnerable, you are worth the investment. In fact, most clients see a gradual lifting of symptoms within the first month and sustained improvement thereafter (if the collaborative work is there). Day one, clients should expect an assessment of needs and goal-setting. Most importantly, I will be empathetic, direct, purposeful and welcoming.
I have worked in the many settings, while serving diverse populations. My target population include individuals and/or (pre-marital/commitment) couples’ therapy.
I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing (Trauma-based), Solution-Focused, Problem-Solving, Coaching/Encouragement, Strength-Based and Motivational Interviewing techniques, to improve day-to-day functioning. My specialties include: Anxiety, depression, trauma, stress reduction, faith-based/Christian, adjustment/transition, anger, grief/loss, cultural issues, military/Veteran, and difficulty with problem-solving. Besides traditional therapy, I incorporate Creative Arts (Music, Art, & Sports) as the ability to deal with emotions may result primarily in non-verbal, expressive ways.
Additionally, having served as a combat Army Veteran (Enlisted & Officer), and possessing other credentials: First Line Medication Aide, Suicide Prevention, and (level 1) FEMA training, allows a specialization in responding to emergencies, natural disasters, combat, and other traumatic events.
Please note: Because your mental health is of the utmost importance, at anytime, we are no longer yielding clinical improvements or you are in need of additional services, referrals will be made.
