Daniel Garner-Quintero

Licensed Mental Health Counselor, CCTP, LMHC
Last Updated 30+ days ago

Daniel is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (MH15612). He completed his Bachelor's degree in psychology at the University of Central Florida, and his Master's Work at Rollins College. He has served as a clinician, trainer, and trauma-informed care leader at the University of Central Florida Counseling and Psychological Services. There he developed a specialization in working with traumatic concerns (sexual assault, rape, interpersonal violence, and early childhood trauma) and gender and sexual orientation/identity concerns.

Daniel practices genuineness with his clients and treats the client-therapist relationship with the utmost concern. He believes that this relationship creates a well-spring from which deep psychotherapeutic work occurs and serves as fertile ground for exploring the client's experiences in the present moment. Drawing from Gestalt approaches, Daniel focuses on how a client's past experiences have shaped their present reality, and he works to increase contact with the present while reducing any negative impact from the past. Beyond traditional psychotherapy, Daniel incorporates Accelerated Resolution Therapy to process trauma and improve his client's present life. Trained as a generalist, Daniel has a wealth of experience treating a variety of concerns including anxiety and depression.

Personally, Daniel is an avid baker and enjoys culinary experiments - everything from tackling challenging recipes, mixing new flavor combinations, and dabbling in molecular gastronomy. Daniel and his husband live in the Central Florida area; they enjoy staying active, time with their dogs, and trips to explore new places or visiting old favorites.
