We all have times in our lives when our thoughts, feelings, behaviors, or relationships become locked in unhelpful patterns that can be very hard to change. As a clinical psychologist, I work collaboratively and actively with people to better understand how and why they became stuck. My clients find that increased awareness of themselves gained within a supportive relationship frees them to have new experiences. I work well with people who have a desire to explore themselves in order to address issues affecting their work, relationships, and happiness.
My approach is primarily psychodynamic and I incorporate cognitive-behavioral techniques as appropriate. I help clients become aware of emotions and behaviors that arise in the here-and-now of a session and I see therapy as a forum to explore the issues that emerge in other areas of life.
To start off, we can have a phone or email consultation to discuss what you're looking for and how I might help. I hope that in the first few meetings we can work together to establish a comfortable rapport and set some goals for treatment.
