I am a clinical psychologist, with expertise in working with university students on various issues including: academic stress, productivity, perfectionism, creative process, relationship with authority, impostor syndrome, performance anxiety, loneliness, and self care.
I have experience with culturally diverse population and individuals from the community who experience anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, trauma and loss, or are otherwise at a point in time when they feel unable to move forward.
In the process of psychotherapy, I first help individuals take their next step in reducing suffering. Secondly, I assist in working on long term and sustainable well being by looking at sources of their difficulties. I guide them through their struggles, in a collaborative effort to understand and ultimately help find their narrative and their own path forward.
My goal in therapy is to create a safe space for exploration and curiosity from which people can make their own choices. I believe that in order to achieve their goals, patients first need to feel safe and understood in the process of therapy.
I use primarily psychodynamic theories to assess presenting struggles, and tailor specific treatments to uniques needs by integrating techniques from psychodynamic schools and cognitive behavioral therapies.
