Cummings Brandenburg Counseling PLLC is a woman-owned business founded on feminist principles, including inclusion, equity, and social justice. My practice specializes in providing high-quality individual counseling services to adults 18+ years. In addition to my NC license, I have an Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT) with The Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT), which allows me to provide tele-therapy to clients in over 40 states. I have several years of experience working in university counseling center settings. During my undergraduate studies, I provided peer counseling and crisis intervention to students as a volunteer at the Help Center at the University of Maryland. As part of my graduate studies, I completed a year-long training practicum at the University of Miami's Counseling Center. Further, I completed by predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte's Counseling Center. In addition to providing counseling services for a wide range of presenting concerns, I ran an interpersonal counseling group for Woman Survivors of Sexual Trauma for two years. I also co-led a mindfulness group, a social skills group, and support group for Student Veterans. Most recently, I was with Davidson College's Center for Student Health and Wellbeing providing outpatient counseling services. During my time at Davidson, I coordinated with the Title IX Office to provide services to students affected by sexual violence. I enjoy working with students from diverse backgrounds with diverse identities.
I can provide you with paperwork for reimbursement from your insurance company if you are seeking out-of-network sessions.
