I enjoy following your lead to the topics and concerns that are most pressing for you. I also teach breathing exercises, meditation techniques, visualizations and communication strategies. I use both structured methods like CBT and EMDR and my own intuitive understanding to help you heal. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, trauma and grief. For me, therapy is a way of gently holding up a mirror to see our inherent clarity and wisdom that is like the blue sky above the clouds.
I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Gentle, painless method that uses back and forth eye movements to help people move past traumatic memories and events. This technique can be surprisingly brief and effective in treating the lasting emotional scars of medical procedures, car accidents, rape and other forms of trauma.
I also have extensive training in mindfulness meditation, a practice that has been proven to lower depression and anxiety and even reduce chronic pain. For clients who are interested, this can be a powerful tool for strengthening self-awareness.
