Dr. Deborah Dumont
Deborah Dumont, DSW, LCSW graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Pennsylvania State University with a B.A. in psychology. She received her MSS from Bryn Mawr College Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research after which she completed postgraduate training in Bowen Family Systems Theory at the Princeton Family Center for Education. She received her doctorate in social work from Rutgers University where her focus was on treating families and young adults. Dr. Dumont’s research can be found in scholarly peer-reviewed literature. She has presented at professional conferences. Dr. Dumont has substantial experience working with trauma, self-injurious behaviors, mood disorders, eating disorders and other food and body issues. Of note, utilizing both cognitive-behavioral theory and family systems theory, Dr. Dumont has specialized in the treatment of eating disorders both at Princeton University and the University Medical Center at Princeton. In addition, in her capacity as a trained breast-feeding counselor, Dr. Dumont takes a special interest in assisting women adjusting to the challenges of having a new baby in the home.
