Colette McCord-Snook
You deserve a compassionate partner in care. I am your warm, supportive therapist dedicated to helping people from all walks of life navigate perfectionism, self-esteem challenges, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, and identity development. I am especially interested in supporting people during periods of change — particularly the shift from higher levels of care into outpatient therapy — when things can feel both hopeful and overwhelming at the same time.
Throughout our time together, we work to explore the impact of systems of oppression on your lived experience and mental health challenges in an effort to build resilience and connection. Treatment may include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which focuses on helping you live in alignment with our values. Rather than trying to “fix” you or eliminate discomfort, therapy with me is about building awareness, flexibility, and self-compassion so you can make choices that support the life you want to live.
I believe in honoring your autonomy and lived experience, which helps me be a respectful and affirming partner in therapy. Sessions are paced with care in a warm, non-judgmental environment where you can show up honestly, even when things feel messy, and are shaped by what feels most important to you. We may explore values and patterns that show up in daily life, practice Mindfulness-based skills, or reflect on personal experiences. I look forward to helping you build trust in yourself, reconnect with your values, and move toward meaningful, sustainable change.
My path to becoming a therapist began with my own lived experience of feeling disconnected from my body and self. This journey deepened my commitment to providing compassionate, weight-inclusive, and nonjudgmental care within schools and clinics offering Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) for eating disorders. Now, I bring this expertise, along with deep empathy, curiosity, and respect for each person’s relationship with food, body, and identity, to my practice at SOL Mental Health.
In my free time, I enjoy gentle movement, being outdoors, reading, listening to music, and cooking. At all times, I value practices that support balance, creativity, and small moments of joy (including but not limited to playing with my dog, Gigi).
