Christie Garbarino

Christie Garbarino is a Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who provides diagnostic evaluations, psychopharmacological management, and individual psychotherapy. Christie has worked for over fifteen years in a variety of psychiatric environments, including a community mental health center, a dual diagnosis inpatient unit, private group practice, and a college counseling center. She enjoys working with adults of all ages who present with a diversity of psychiatric needs.

Christie maintains a treatment philosophy that is holistic in nature, placing emphasis on assessing and treating the entire person. She believes that combining both medication and psychotherapy often leads to the most successful outcomes. She uses both psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral theories in her work with clients, and she sees the formation of a strong therapeutic alliance as essential. Consequently, Christie values a team approach in working together with the individual to develop an appropriate plan of care. She is passionate about mental health care and grateful to have the opportunity to work with her clients.

Christie is Board Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Providence College and a Master of Science degree in Nursing from Boston College. Christie also completed a fellowship in Behavioral Health at Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates.
