Chenoa Bishop
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use in adults, using an integrative psychodynamic approach grounded in mindfulness. I believe each person has a unique capacity to overcome challenges when provided with the right tools, support, and space to grow. As such, my explorative approach to therapy is warm and inviting, and grounded in curiosity and collaboration.
As a polyvagal-informed clinician, I incorporate an understanding of nervous system regulation into my work. Together, we gently explore patterns, deepen understanding, and create meaningful change. My goal is to equip you with practical knowledge and skills to better manage daily stressors, increase emotional resilience, and foster a greater sense of safety and stability.
My work focuses on helping you build resilience through developing greater distress tolerance. To achieve this, I foster curiosity, compassion, and a nonjudgmental stance, creating a collaborative, safe, and growth-oriented environment where you feel understood and empowered to explore your inner experiences safely and openly.
In our time together, I believe in autonomy within the therapeutic relationship and practice from a person-centered perspective, utilizing an integrative approach that draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Through this framework, I support you in understanding the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while developing personalized coping strategies that align with your values and goals.
Throughout my years as a social worker, I’ve had the privilege of working with diverse populations facing a wide range of unique challenges. What continues to inspire me most is the resilience of the human spirit. Witnessing that resilience firsthand sparked my passion for this work and remains at the heart of why I do what I do.
I am a lover of all things creative – creativity is an important part of how I connect, reflect, and recharge. This includes visiting museums, crafting, journaling, reading, dancing, and exploring new hobbies. I’m also a fan of K-pop and value the sense of community that comes from gathering with other fans. These types of shared interests and creative expression are powerful ways we build connection and joy in our lives.
