Carol Valentin
In my practice I strive to help my clients feel comfortable and safe while exploring the ways their past and present patterns of relationships have affected their ability to manage emotions which may disrupt their flow.
I believe strongly that political, cultural, social, and family dynamics influence who we become. For those persons who have experienced trauma from oppression, race, class or gender it is most important to disentangle the way the world sees us from who we really are. I follow the themes that each person brings and hope to shed light on the ways any or all of these experiences prove to be obstacles to our mental well being. My hope is always to bring hope and change so that the psychotherapeutic journey leads one's self or selves to experience joy, love and productivity in their present life and their dreamed of future.
