College can be a truly stressful time for many - there is so much to juggle! Homework and deadlines, all kinds of relationships, deciding what to do for a career, finances, looking at your personal beliefs, time management... the list goes on! This can be a time of life full of anxiousness, uncertainty, internal and external pressures and expectations, and difficulties with time management and procrastination due to a myriad of environmental stressors. It also seems like you're never able to really turn "off" when you're not at school because it feels like there's always *something* you should be or could be working on. I work with all of these issues, and I have been told I have a warm, interactive, and relational style of counseling. I enjoy using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), psycho-educational tools, and mindfulness methods to help clients reach a greater sense of wellbeing and productivity. I truly love working with college populations, whether that means "traditional" student ages or "non-traditional" ages.
I look forward to hearing from you!
(Also, my office is within walking or biking distance from MSU's campus, if you happen to be without a car.)
