I’m a firm believer that all humans have to cultivate their physical, relational, and psychological wellbeing. Working with me, you’ll be challenged to make active investments in these three areas. We’ll work to untangle any messy threads in the tapestry of your life and weave them into something you find beautiful. As a therapist, I find the most enjoyment in helping people sort through their relational difficulties (unsupportive parents, difficult romantic partnerships, challenging friendships, etc.). I’m a firm believer that the therapeutic relationship can help to heal our relational traumas and develop the skills needed to thrive. I also deeply love discussing issues of meaning and purpose. We’ll explore what you want from this life and discern how to take the next steps on that journey. Together we can discover how these issues intersect with identity, spirituality, religion (and religious trauma), career choice, aging, and every other lens through which we view human experience.
When working with children and adolescents, I bring enthusiasm and experience providing family therapy, play-based approaches, and parent support. Depending on age and presenting problem, we can collaborate to decide what form of treatment will best serve your child. I take a structural family therapy approach, which means I work best with parents and caregivers who are willing to step into the therapy room from time to time and work to figure out how each aspect of the child’s environment is supporting or inhibiting their development. As a team, we’ll work to make sure your child has what they need to grow into a healthy, well-functioning adult.
