I am a relationally focused counselor who believes that true healing and change occurs when there is a strong therapeutic relationship. I view my role as counselor as not only a source of support but also, an objective guide to help you see patterns, make connections, and address thoughts and behaviors that are contributing to your current emotional state and symptoms. It is often difficult for us to see these things for ourselves and having a safe, supportive place to explore our emotional experiences, thoughts, and behaviors can be incredibly beneficial.
I have 17+ years of experience working primarily with the college population in a university counseling center setting. I have been in private practice for over 11 years and have seen both adults and older teenagers in that setting. I also have experience with couples and typically utilize Gottman methods with couples.
Reaching out for help and support can be incredibly difficult and I commend you for taking this step. Vulnerability can be hard and scary but, it is also what will allow you to heal and build the life you deserve and want. I would be happy to meet with you to find out if I might be a fit as your therapist.
