Benjamin (pronounced Ben-ya-meen) Lasner, M.S., is a licensed professional counselor practicing in the Tri-County Area. Benjamin is compassionate, open, and committed to creating a therapeutic relationship where everyone feels safe and respected. As an individual who also sees his own counselor, Benjamin understands and values the perspectives of both sides of the therapeutic relationship and firmly believes that two individuals sitting in a room, having a conversation, is one of the most powerful, healing events that can occur.

Benjamin strives to make the therapeutic environment welcoming, giving you his full focus and attention. Benjamin believes it is important to meet each client where they are in order to help them in the most efficient manner; he personalizes his approach with each individual to make them feel comfortable and heard while navigating their unique challenges and striving to increase happiness and satisfaction.

Benjamin utilizes various theoretical models to assist his clients in the ways that work best for each individual. He is a graduate of Neumann University, where his studies and training taught him how to help clients from bio-psycho-social and spiritual perspectives. His therapeutic approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Adlerian Theory, Positive Psychology, and Motivational Interviewing, and he often incorporates grounding and mindfulness techniques to promote tolerance and holistic healing. Benjamin’s areas of expertise include anxiety and depression, anger management, stress, work issues, couples/family counseling, intergenerational trauma, and Autism Spectrum Disorders.

With diverse professional experiences in the theatre, food service, education, and religious fields, Benjamin brings a breadth of knowledge which allows him to empathetically see each client’s reality.

A favorite quote Benjamin brings with him into therapy is one from the hit television series, Avatar the Last Air Bender: “You can’t always see the light at the end of the tunnel, but if you keep moving you will come to a better place”- Uncle Iroh.

Benjamin looks forward to being a part of your mental health journey!
