Dr. Blair Buckman has her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology (Alliant International University). Dr. Buckman has extensive clinical experience providing both short and long term counseling to the LGBT community, and those coping with chronic physical and mental illnesses, including chronic pain. She focuses on integrating the art and science of mindfulness into her work with every client with whom she works. Completing her doctoral dissertation on chronic pain and positive social emotions, Dr. Buckman additionally incorporates the use of compassion into therapy. She has also spent several years working at University counseling centers, providing counseling services to undergraduate and graduate students, and focusing on substance use prevention and education. She is dedicated to helping clients grow and develop into their ideal self and has a strong commitment to tailoring therapy to meet the needs of the client, with the belief the most effective outcomes are a collaborative effort between therapist and client. Dr. Buckman's philosophy on the therapeutic process is client centered, lending itself to the incorporation of a variety of theoretical orientations with great flexibility in style.
