Here’s my story: I used to live life as perfectionist, a chronic people-pleaser, constantly fixing things. I would even worry in my sleep, and no matter what I'd try, my mind would *n*e*v*e*r* stop.
I was constantly overwhelmed because I would pick up everyone's emotions around me. I felt so responsible for everyone's feelings and needs.
I was bone-weary, burned out, resentful, and overwhelmed. I tried therapy and a bunch of different meds. I tried therapy again.
With a different therapist. And another one. And finally I was a frustrated therapy-dropout myself. It felt like I tried everything!
A few years later, I was done living like a burned out shell of myself
& I went to school to be a therapist, and tried out practically every treatment and modality, and found what actually worked for me!
And I'm thrilled to share this with you (as I have with hundreds of others before you!) You can be self-respecting *and* others-respecting. You can be compassionate to yourself *and* other people.
Balance is possible, and you really can feel serene inside--- not just numb!
