Hello, I'm Anita. I support individuals and couples working through issues related to depression, anxiety, addiction, insomnia, fatigue, medical health challenges, communication issues, and trauma. My approach to therapy is collaborative, and I use curiosity, respect, informed listening skills, and an embodied presence to support you with your concerns.
I am trained in Gottman Family Therapy, Ericksonian Hypnotherapy, Somatic Experiencing, EMDR, Trauma-Informed Care, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and CBT. Additionally, I have trained with Patrick Carnes' International Institute of Trauma and Addiction. With over 20 years of experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I have also studied and practiced Rolfing, Structural Integration, Craniosacral Therapy, and Osteopathy in Canada.
My life's passion has been to support the integration of mind-body health, a sense of wholeness, and inner aliveness for each client. I believe that each person has an immense reservoir of health that can be tapped into and explored when provided with attuned support and holding. One of my specialties is trauma therapy. My work allows clients to work with previous attachment traumas or other forms of trauma while integrating and transforming the residual nature of the event so a renewal of life and dynamism becomes available to that individual.
When you work with me, you can expect a compassionate and non-judgmental space where your unique experiences and challenges are honored. Together, we will explore your concerns and work towards healing and growth. I am here to support you in finding a path to a more fulfilling and balanced life.
Outside of my professional life, I am deeply committed to continuous learning and personal growth. I enjoy exploring new therapeutic techniques and staying updated with the latest research in mental health.
If you feel that we might be a good match, I invite you to reach out. Let's take the first step towards your journey of healing and transformation together.
