Andrew Demaree
I'm a Clinical Psychologist, licensed in the State of New York, and have over 20 years of experience in successfully helping college students who struggle with depression, anxiety, relationship concerns, grief & loss, and poor self-esteem. I enjoy working with people from a variety of different backgrounds, identities, and life circumstances. I take the privilege of working with patients very seriously and am committed to providing a consistent, supportive, and productive therapy experience to each of them, in every session.
I have specific training in several treatment approaches (Interpersonal therapy, CBT, & contemporary psychodynamic therapy among them), and tailor the work to the particular needs of each patient. Regardless of the approach, however, my goal is always to work together to find practical strategies and solutions we can use to create real, meaningful change.
While my experience and training are certainly important to how I approach this work, I believe my genuine personal warmth and natural sense of humor are also central to creating therapy relationships that feel safe and transformative. If you'd like to discuss the possibility of our working together, I'd be happy to schedule a free 15-minute consultation.
