Life is hard enough all on its own. It's even harder when you're using all your energy to fight off things like anxiety or depression. The space it takes up in your head is unreal. You do a good job of appearing to have it together but inside your head it's LOUD. Whether the problem is excessive worry, or doubt, it's always there, lurking, waiting to sabotage a decent day. It makes you snap at people and you don't even know why. Maybe it shows up as anger, irritability, social isolation- however it happens it's not doing anything good for you. It interferes with life overall. Living like this is exhausting and unnecessary.
Life with real coping skills looks different. It's not to say that the stress magically disappears, but with some new skills, your responses to stress can be completely different. Imagine being able to clearly talk things through rather than blow up and have to apologize! You can get to that place, but you can't get there without some help.
While therapy has a reputation for being all talk and one sided that won't be your experience in my office. While we do some of that, I offer real solutions and real feedback to help you make the changes that you want to make. We work together to get you from here to there in a way that works for you personally. Maybe it's time to make an appointment.
