Hello and welcome! My name is Andrea Boyd, (she/her) LCSW-C, and I am a psychotherapist specializing in working with young people, roughly ages 14-26. This time of life—late childhood and early adulthood is a time full of complexity— a time when we make myriad choices about who we want to be, who we want around us, what we want to do, and what we value, all while navigating a culture that puts impossible expectations on us. The amount of pressure to perform or to be a certain way in these years can be overwhelming, especially for anyone with a different or marginalized identity.
I use an integrative trauma informed approach to therapy. I find value in many different modes of psychotherapy, including cognitive ones that start in the head and target thoughts and behaviors and somatic ones that start in the body and target emotions and relationships. I work with people coping depression, anxiety, trauma, and self esteem issues.
So if you are struggling with feelings of unworthiness, sadness, worry, anxiety, shyness, etc, or if for any other reason you feel I would be a good fit for you as a therapist, don't hesitate to reach out. Though it may not feel like it now, there are paths out of these extremely difficult feelings and it is possible for you to find your way out.
Andrea Boyd is in network for the following plans:
