Last Updated 30+ days ago

Amelia is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate for Central Psych Charlotte in the state of North Carolina. She is a graduate of the Master of Arts of Christian Counseling Program at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary—Charlotte. She earned her Bachelor’s in Psychology with a Minor in Spanish from Clemson University. She chose to pursue a career in counseling because she wants to give others a safe place to be heard, experience their feelings, and find healing. She has always had a love for people and a desire to help others find clarity about their emotional and mental health. She believes the counseling relationship has the power to create change. Amelia appreciates an insight-oriented approach to counseling. This approach seeks to help individuals understand some of our underlying motivations concerning why we “act” the way we do. The counseling modalities she uses are Psychodynamic therapy, Emotion- Focused Therapy, and Attachment theory. Amelia also incorporates yoga and mindfulness into her practice for clients who enjoy those practices. She collaborates with adolescents(13+) and individuals in their journeys with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, identity development, life transitions, body dissatisfaction, self-esteem, relationship difficulties, and faith integration.
