Alycia O'Connell
Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially if this is your first experience or you're trying to balance school, work, relationships, and everything else life is asking of you. My goal is to create a space where you feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported while we work together toward the changes that matter most to you.
I have worked in the mental health field since 2000 and have over 25 years of experience helping adolescents, young adults, and adults navigate life's challenges. I am licensed in Oregon, Washington, and Colorado and provide therapy through secure telehealth.
I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Every person brings unique strengths, experiences, and goals, so I tailor treatment to meet your individual needs. My work integrates attachment theory, nervous system regulation, and experiential therapies including Somatic Experiencing®, Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR and the Flash Technique, Compassion Focused Therapy, mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP), and biofeedback.
I enjoy working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, chronic illness, ADHD, grief, relationship concerns, life transitions, and the unique challenges that often arise during college and early adulthood. I also have extensive experience working with helping professionals and graduate students.
In addition to providing therapy, I teach workshops, provide consultation, and offer clinical supervision for mental health professionals, allowing me to stay actively engaged in both clinical practice and ongoing professional development.
