Licensed Mental Health Counselor, LMHC
Accepting clients Last Updated 17 days ago

Due to licensing rules, I can only work with clients in New York State! Hi, my name is Alia and I became a Licensed Mental Health Counselor after my own experience being diagnosed with bipolar one disorder during my undergrad college years. I try to take what I have liked working counselors over the years (being listened to, validated & empathized with), what has not worked for me (those who gave preachy, simplistic advice...) and incorporate the helpful counseling styles into my practice. My area of specialty emerged while I was in graduate school. I had the honor of working with Survivors of Domestic Violence. I also have spent several years working as an Outpatient Behavioral Health Therapist at a hospital assisting clients heal from depression, anxiety, mood disorders and trauma. COVID-19 hasn't been easy on our generation, and especially not for students. I am noticing an increase in social anxiety and overall questioning of the meaning of life. I remain committed to the mental health field, however, and hope you reach out to see if I'm a good match for you!
NEW: I have recently started a therapy blog! If you would like to learn more about my approach, please copy and paste the following website into a search engine:
