Alexis James Virtual Counseling
I’m passionate about supporting first‑generation students, students from marginalized backgrounds, and students of color, as they navigate the emotional, cultural, and academic pressures that come with being the first in their families to walk these paths. My goal is to help students build a more harmonious, grounded, and empowered experience during their time on campus.
I work with individuals experiencing:
• Adjustment‑related stress, including transitions into college or new environments
• Cultural transitions and the unique pressures faced by first‑generation students
• Distorted eating patterns, emotional overwhelm, and challenges with emotion regulation
My therapeutic approach integrates DBT and multimodal strategies, always rooted in cultural humility and a commitment to centering each person’s lived experience. I strive to create a space where students feel understood, supported, and equipped to move toward their goals with clarity and confidence.
The most efficient way to get started is by visiting my website, reviewing the FAQ section, and completing the new client interest form. This will give me all the information I will need to determine next steps.
I look forward to meeting you and supporting you on your journey.
